Amanda

Amanda

Front Desk/Office Manager CA

After a long search and multiple interviews to find the best fit for the office, Amanda joined our team in July of 2014. Amanda maintains office flow and is especially involved in care plan continuity. She works closely with Dr. Hansen to make sure practice members have the tools they need to stay on track and get the results they are looking for. In her free time, Amanda loves to travel and bake yummy treats. She exercises multiple days a week and constantly strives to change up her routine to maximize her results and challenge herself in different ways. Amanda graduated from Texas State with a bachelors degree in science and continued on to complete a masters degree in health care administration. She says that she has the best position in our office because she is the first one who gets to greet all our practice members with a warm smile. Amanda discovered that her cervical spine was malpositioned and she is receiving Dr. Hansen's care to correct it so that she can further express health for the rest of her life. She has always been interested in health and living a healthy, active lifestyle. She is passionate about informing others about the Maximized Living family. Her husband, James, has also seen positive changes in eliminating back pain and reducing stress. Amanda personally understands the benefits of an adjustment and how it functions to balance the entire body to allow for optimal health.

Dr. Clayton Hansen, D.C.

Doctor of Chiropractic

Dr. Hansen was born in Garland, Texas and is the youngest of three boys. Multiple members of his family had received chiropractic treatment for different reasons. His mother was pregnant with twins and was encouraged by a friend to see a chiropractor during her pregnancy since chiropractic care facilitates the birthing process. She recounts her doctor who delivered her twins saying that hers was one of the smoothest birth of twins he had ever performed. Later one of Dr. Hansen’s older twin brothers was attending college at Texas A&M when he was accidentally run over by a bus. After going to a hospital and having needed surgery, he began seeing a chiropractor regularly. Even though he was told by his medical doctor that he would probably never walk normally again nor be capable of having children, Dr. Hansen’s brother is an avid soccer player and has two healthy little boys and another baby on the way.

Dr. Hansen personally learned the importance of chiropractic care when he became very ill serving a two-year mission for his church in the outskirts of Puebla, Mexico. He was sick the entire two years, lost about 30 pounds and suffered from about every condition you could imagine: fevers, diarrhea, vomiting, hives, cold/cough, flu, pneumonia, strep throat, allergies/asthma, rashes, malnutrition to name a few. After returning home from his mission for his church, Dr. Hansen knew exactly what his schooling and career focus would be. He wanted others to avoid the things he went through and make sure that no person was robbed of his or her God-given potential to serve others and fulfill his or her purpose in this life.

Dr. Hansen attended Parker College of Chiropractic in Dallas. Just before graduation Dr. Hansen was hand-selected to train under Maximized Living’s co-founder Greg Loman in Naples, Florida. His wife, Kalie, finished what would be her last year teaching Spanish to high school students to train with him. While training in Florida, Dr. Hansen learned techniques for spinal correction, injury prevention, sports performance protocols, detoxification, and additional nutrition certifications. He continues to attend seminars and training camps multiple times a year to further his education in these aspects to make sure he is delivering the highest quality of care to his patients in San Antonio, TX. He cares for staff, teachers and the special needs/learning disabled students at local charter school campuses. Dr. Hansen is also an official sports performance team chiropractor on the Wellness Advisory Council, which serves the following Olympic teams: Wrestling, Weightlifting, Judo, Martial Arts, the para-Olympic Volleyball team and Boxing. Dr. Hansen and his wife attended the 2012 Summer Games in London, wherein the U.S. received its first ever medal of any kind in Judo (not to mention there were two medals, one was a Gold and the other Bronze), with multiple other Maximized Living athletes medaling as well.

Dr. Hansen, Kalie and their trained team serve patients in San Antonio and surrounding areas as well as cities down in the Valley and far west of San Antonio. Our office is open and inviting and we will help you to implement the changes you need in your life to realize your optimum health. Many people, including those within conventional medicine, have no idea that things like scoliosis can be treated and corrected by corrective care chiropractic without surgery; that a person’s body evidencing symptoms is its request for help and balance, not medications; and that through corrective chiropractic care the body can regain normal healing and function where it was once thought lost. We look forward to serving you with high standards in a professional manner while maintaining a relationship of concern and familiarity. Although our office is mostly referral-based, we accept new patients who have no ties or affiliations to our practice and hope to see you soon.

Maximized Living delivers results with sensibility. Our doctor has dedicated this clinic to the principles of Maximized Living because we’re dedicated to getting you truly well. We shouldn’t trick our bodies into feeling better. We should remove interference so we can live our lives exactly how we see fit.

Kalie

Kalie

Essential No. 3 Chiropractic Assistant

Kalie has been a part of Oak Hills Chiropractic since its inception in April of 2011. Kalie was a high school Spanish teacher for four years before she "retired" from teaching and trained with Dr. Hansen in Florida prior to opening the office. Kalie is passionate about nutrition and teaches our practice members about how food can either benefit or harm the body. She has spent countless hours consulting with patients and teaching them not only what to eat, but how to make practical lifestyle changes to realize their health goals. Kalie coordinates recipe nights at the clinic and meets practice members at the grocery store to do shopping tours, which include learning how to read food label ingredients (what to avoid and what to include), which things to buy organic (and how to save money) as well as making sure to bring home only the good stuff. Kalie also helps our practice members understand the results from their metabolic testing and how best to address deficiencies or metabolic problems. With her insight and guidance along with the determination of our practice members to reach their health goals, we have seen several reverse diabetes, get off of medications for chronic conditions, decrease inflammation, lose weight and support the body in its natural detoxification mechanisms.
